I started designing Esther right after watching the first instalment of Wicked. I wanted her to feel like a kind of sweet and kind, but also very solid and squat, like most dwarves look. I loved the concept of characters like Corporal Cheery Littlebottom from Discworld and Ostentatia Wallace from Dimension20, really femme dwarves who are deeply rooted in their cultural customs and traditions. Cheery in particular still wears her beard, but styles herself very consciously feminine, and I wanted to play with that as a character design, so Zosia has bottle blonde hair with roots showing and a bright pink dip-dye, and her beard follows this color choice. The tassets on her armor are all adorned with floral and astral patterns, and she wears glittery lipgloss and eyeshadow.

I think I achieved what I set out to do with her character: a very feminine dwarven cleric who holds to her cultural traditions proudly in her own way.
